The following notes give a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified (Art. 4 No. 1 DSGVO).

Data processing on this website is carried out by the site operator. Where personal data (such as a name or email address) is collected, this is always done on a voluntary basis. We do not pass this data on to third parties without your express consent.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you access our pages, Vercel automatically processes technical information that your browser transmits (so-called server log files): IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, referrer URL, browser, and operating system.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) DSGVO. The operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and delivery of the website. Because Vercel transfers data to the USA, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and additionally on Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2)(c) DSGVO.

For database, authentication, and file storage we use Supabase Inc., 970 Toa Payoh North #07-04, Singapore 318992. Supabase processes the personal data that you actively submit to us (for example, your email address when subscribing to the newsletter) and technical connection data on our behalf.

A data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 DSGVO is in place with Supabase. Where data transfers occur outside the EEA, Supabase ensures an adequate level of data protection through Standard Contractual Clauses.

On the home page you can submit your email address to be notified about the launch of the first issue and future issues of the magazine. Signup is voluntary. We process only the email address and the timestamp of the signup.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO. You can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future by sending an informal email to udo.buck@yahoo.de. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Your email address is stored until you withdraw your consent or the purpose of the processing no longer applies (for example, if the magazine is permanently discontinued). The data is not passed on to third parties.

When you contact us by email, your details — including the contact information you provide there — are stored by us for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) DSGVO insofar as your inquiry is connected with the performance of a contract or is necessary to take pre-contractual steps. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1)(f) DSGVO).

This website only uses technically necessary cookies and local storage entries that are required to provide the functionality you have explicitly requested (in particular session cookies for signing in to the administration area). This storage is permitted without consent under § 25 (2) No. 2 TTDSG.

We do not use any tracking, analytics, or marketing cookies.

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the https:// prefix in your browser's address bar.

You have the right at any time to obtain information (Art. 15 DSGVO), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), to object to processing (Art. 21), and to data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO). For the residence of the controller, this is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

Unless a more specific retention period is stated in this notice, your personal data remains with us until the purpose of the data processing no longer applies or you request its deletion. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy notice so that it continues to comply with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services. The new privacy notice will then apply on your next visit.
